Peter Vetter
Peter Vetter is designer, partner, and creative director of Coande, Communication and Design, founded 1998 together with Katharina Leuenberger in Zurich, Switzerland. He gained his extensive experience while working internationally in Italy, Germany, the USA, and Japan. In Italy he worked with Tomás Maldonado and later as a founder and partner of BBV (Baur, Baviera, Vetter). From 1984 to 1995 he was partner and creative director of the Corporate Identity Agency Zintzmeyer & Lux AG (Zurich, Bonn, New York) and after that Senior Vice-President of Vignelli Associates in New York.
He is a senior lecturer and researcher at Zurich University of the Arts and teaches identity, branding and communication as well as economics, innovation, and design history. He was responsible between 2007 and 2012 of the study programs of Visual Communication (BA and MA) at Zurich University of the Arts. Peter Vetter initiated and is managing international projects such as Design for all, Creative Industries or Linking Cultures and lectured and led workshops in Mozambique, India, Morocco, China, Egypt, and Macedonia, as well as in Germany, Italy, and the USA.
He is a member of various national and international design juries, was president of the SGV (Swiss Graphic Design Association) for several years and is president of Netzhdk, the alumni association of the Zurich University of the Arts.
His work has won several international awards and two projects have been elected to the Hall of Fame of Swiss design, and he published recently together with Katharina Leuenberger the publications Design as Investment, No style a historic research about one of the founders of the so-called Swiss Style Ernst Keller (1891–1968) or Design for all.
